Dusty Demo
April 7, 2019

Since my last post we have started the demo at Casa Louise. The first and biggest thing to do is chip off all the plaster on the walls. What was there was pretty bumpy and not so pretty – think goopy, bumpy, popcorn ceiling stuff but kind of everywhere. It really had to go and there is no easy way to get rid of it. It is a painstaking process of chipping the plaster down to the brick and then re-doing the plaster work. We are doing every room in the house. And it will take about a month to do it all!
Here are a few snaps of the process.

Needless to say, it is beyond dusty. If you were to stop by to visit the site, your shoes (and most likely your pants) would turn grey as you walk through. And it feels a bit jail-like right now with all the brick exposed. But just imagine pristine white walls in the end. The picture on the right here is of the upstairs hall. We’ll be changing those windows to full height french doors with Juliette balconies so you can look down into the courtyard below. Muy Romántico!
